All Levels Yoga
These classes are for beginners and everyone interested in reviewing the essential elements of a yoga practice. These classes focus on the shapes of the postures, principles of alignment, utilizing the breath, lines of energy, and the language of the practice.
The postures will be flowing, slow and gentle, encouraging breath and exploration within each pose. Instruction will promote step-by-step movement into and out of each pose making this practice accessible to the beginner. Meditation and breathwork will be a part of each class.
Yoga Flow
Flow-based classes tie breath to movement between individual postures. The focus will be on strengthening, lengthening, and stretching through a creative series of postures in constant motion. To thrive in a flow-based class, your body should be healthy and free of injury and you should have a strong understanding of the individual postures. Recommended props: block(s), strap.
Power and Hot Flow
This method uses a powerful flowing practice that involves synchronizing breath and movement through a progressive series of postures. This process produces intense internal heat and a purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles, organs and the nervous system. This class is an Ashtanga-based Vinyasa flow practice (some refer to it as Power Yoga) which includes a set series of poses. Prior experience with Yoga and sun salutations is recommended as this is an intermediate class, however all levels are welcome.
Hatha Yoga / Yoga Stretch
A gentle Yoga class for beginners that is designed to cultivate the fundamentals of a yoga practice. The focus of this class will be on breathing, correct alignment of postures, and relaxation.
Hatha Yoga brings balance, strength, and a sense of well-being to the practitioner. The holding of postures and progression of postures from supine and seated to standing and balance postures, hip openers and spinal twists end in meditation and savasana. This class is ideal for beginners or students looking for a deep stretch. Mixed Hatha are offered for more experienced students and will incorporate the sun salutations.
At our Health Club, yoga is a practice that combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. It's designed to improve overall health and well-being.
Yoga at our Health Club is for everyone! No matter your age or fitness level, there are yoga classes that can work for you. Always consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new exercise program.
The only essential item is a yoga mat. Our Health Club provides props like blocks, straps, or bolsters to help with certain poses.
Each posture stimulates the organs, muscles, tendons and ligaments activating circulation to the area and flushing out toxins. Fresh oxygenated blood is sent to every part of the body rejuvenating the entire system. The heated room ensures that participants sweat which helps to flush out the toxins. Through practicing any style of yoga, you can expect to deepen the relationship you have with yourself.
Yes. You can print out a waiver from our website and hand it in at the front desk. Or you can fill out a waiver at the front desk before your first class. Be sure to allow additional time before the class starts to have this completed.
Yes, beginners are welcome in both hot and non-hot classes, however practitioners should be more mindful of the class style and temperature allocated to each class. New students to hot yoga might enjoy a warm class first.
Hot yoga uses the concept of heat and exertion to release toxins through sweat. It is less strict with the heat and humidity. The postures — asanas — and sequence can vary from class to class, depending on the yoga instructor’s preparations. Hot yoga is a more intense yoga performed in a room heated above normal room temperature. It can range in temperature between 80–100°F
When practicing hot yoga, it’s essential to bring a non-slip yoga mat. The heat can cause you to sweat, making the floor slippery and unsafe. Using a non-slip yoga mat, though, will help you maintain your balance and avoid any injuries. Water, appropriate attire and a positive attitude.
The hot yoga studio is about 80-100F with approx 50-60% humidity.
